Mcilroy’s new putter. It’s no secret that Rory has struggled to find a TaylorMade putter that suits. Maybe there just isn’t a substitute for the good aul Scotty Cameron.
Let’s take an in-depth look at all of the equipment.
“The Spider Tour Red delivers Tour-proven performance to every golfer. With perimeter weighting for added stability and a removed sightline to zero in the player’s focus, Spider Tour Red provides a stroke of confidence to help golfers drain more putts when they matter most.
Played by Jason Day and Dustin Johnson, the Pure Roll™ insert combines 45° grooves with a softer polymer to increase topspin and improve forward roll across varying surfaces – helping your ball start and stay on its intended line.”
The Spider didn’t seem to take Rory’s fancy, although a lot of players seem to be putting well with it.
So onto the TP Mullen
Still no luck. So now it looks like it’s onto the TaylorMade TP Collection Soto. The quest to find Mcilroy’s Putter continues.
Mcilroy’s new putter,
Following three difficult days on the greens at TPC River Highlands, McIlroy – who switched to a more traditional blade putter for the final round – finished on the plus side in strokes-gained putting on his way to a 64 that moved him to 6 under for the week.
“I couldn’t have done any worse than what I’ve done in the first three days. So I just wanted to mix it up and go back to something that looked a little more familiar,” McIlroy said. “That style of head or that head shape I’ve had the most success with. So I went back to that today to see if I could conjure up any good feelings and it felt pretty good.” Golf Channel
